Using your personal account, you can amend your:
• Car registration
• Car value
• Additional driver(s) details
• Level of cover
• Vehicle usage
Here are a few simple steps that will help you change your Brightside Insurance policy details.
Step 1First, you’ll want to head over to the Brightside homepage – although any page will be fine. When you’re there, click on ‘My Online Account / Login’ in the top right corner. This will direct you to the Existing Customers page.
Scroll down slightly and click on the orange ‘Login’ button.
Step 2Here, you’ll need to type in your username and password using the relevant text boxes. Click on the Login button when you’ve filled in both.
If you can’t remember your username or password, simply click on ‘Forgotten username’ or ‘Forgotten password’, follow the procedure, and we’ll remind you of your username or update your password.
Step 3You should be able to all of your existing policies as well as any messages you might have. Click on ‘Manage policy/view documents’ below the policy you want to make changes to.
Step 4The next page will allow you to view documents, make amendments, and view details about your policy.
At this point, you can only make changes to your policy if you’ve uploaded all of the required documents and your policy has been confirmed.
If it should have been confirmed but hasn’t, contact a member of our customer services team who will be happy to help.
Step 5Scrolling down you’ll be presented with several options, including amending your details, changing your vehicle details, and replacing your current vehicle.
To change personal details, click on the ‘Amend details’ button. Here, you can change:
• Date of birth
• Contact number
• Email address
You’ll also have the option to amend your car details by clicking ‘Change car details’ or ‘Replace current car’. This will give you the option to amend:
• Make and model
• Postcode at which the vehicle is kept
If you need to make any changes to your additional driver, click on the ‘Add another driver’ button.
Step 6To make more detailed changes about your policy, click on the button that reads ‘Amend cover and use’.
Here, you can specify when you want to make changes – whether it be immediately or a date in the future. You can also choose the type of change you need to make from the drop-down box: Change of Drivers, Change of Vehicle, or Multiple Changes.
Ensure you’ve read the important information below before you select ‘Continue’.
Step 7On this page, you can make changes to your cover and use, including:
• Type of cover (third party only, third party fire and theft, comprehensive)
• What you use your car for
• Annual vehicle mileage
When you’re happy with the changes you’ll be making, select ‘Continue’.
Step 8If you require any additional cover, the next page will ask you for card details to complete the payment. You may already have card details saved; you can use those if preferred.
For return premiums, you’ll be guided through the process of how to receive your refund.
Step 9Confirmation of the changes made to your account will be sent to your designated email address, and a message will be sent to your personal Brightside account.
