Markerstudy Group has acquired Brightside Group, subject to regulatory approval, from private equity investor AnaCap Financial Partners in its first strike of 2021. This follows the Group’s completion of the purchase of the Co-op Insurance underwriting business in December 2020 and investment by Pollen Street Capital and Qatar Insurance Company in January this year.

On 26 March 2020 Gefion Insurance, who are based in Denmark have been ordered by the Danish Financial Services Authority (DFSA) to stop taking on new policies. This meant that they are now unable to sell policies to new customers or process the renewals of existing customers

Brightside Group announced today that Derek Henry has been appointed managing director of broking, and will join the business on 1 September. His role, which is subject to regulatory approval, covers full P&L responsibility for the business and he will sit on the Board and Executive Committee. His major responsibilities will be to drive trading and oversee insurer relationships and key partnerships.

Brightside Group [Brightside] has appointed Richard Beaven as Group Chief Operating Officer (COO). Richard began his new role on 15 April and will report to Group CEO Brendan McCafferty.

WNS Assistance is part of WNS Global Services, a New York Stock Exchange-listed global provider of business process management (BPM) solutions.

Kitsune Associates Ltd (Kitsune), part of Brightside Group, has begun trading. Trevor Bowers, Kitsune MD said that the MGA has started writing policies in private car and commercial vehicle, through Brightside, and will roll out to selected wholesale brokers during the first quarter of 2019.
