Mark Cliff is a Non-Executive Chairman at Brightside Group. He joined the company in May 2015.
Prior to Brightside, Mark held the position of Chief Executive of Retail and Distribution at Ageas Insurance Ltd where he was responsible for all Ageas UK's broker distribution and affinity relationships, as well as Ageas's owned distribution businesses comprising Kwik Fit Financial Services, Ageas Insurance Solutions, RIAS and Castle Cover.
Prior to Ageas, Mark worked at AXA Insurance, where he held the position of Markets, Managing Director, and was responsible for all distribution channels, commercial branch operations, as well as customer service and marketing.
In his early career, Mark worked at RSA in a variety of roles for 15 years.
Mark is also Deputy Chairman of BIBAs Large Broker Advisory Board and Vice President of the CII.
Brendan McCafferty is CEO of the Brightside Group. He joined the company in August 2018.
Brendan has worked in the insurance industry for over thirty years; running large insurance companies and start up’s in both personal and commercial business lines. His previous role was CEO of AXA Insurance. He was also founding CEO of Flood Re, between 2014-2017, overseeing the creation of one of the industry’s most enduring recent success stories.
Brendon is a qualified accountant with previous roles that include President, Willis UK at Willis and Associate Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers from 1996 to 2002.
Brendan is married with three children and is a keen Liverpool FC supporter.
Ian is Chief Finance Officer at Brightside Group. He joined Brightside in May 2014.
Prior to his time at Brightside, Ian held a number of senior positions across the financial services, telecoms and FMCG sectors, including spells as CEO and CFO of Barbon Insurance Group. He has also spent time working as Finance Director for Equity Insurance Brokers and held various financial positions in over ten years working for Coca Cola & Schweppes.
Away from work Ian is a keen sports fan.
Russell Bence is Managing Director of Brightside Group with responsibility for volume lines in the Head Office at Aust. He joined us in May 2016.
Russell began his career at Swinton’s, and fulfilled a variety of sales and management roles. More recently Russell has worked as M.D for Markerstudy’s retail division and previous to that, he was business development manager at HSBC insurance brokers.
