About the role

We are looking for an experienced Pricing professional to join the Pricing & Analytics team on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting into the Head of Pricing, you will be joining and helping lead a successful team of Pricing Analysts which have responsibility for the delivery of Broker pricing across a broad spectrum of insurance products.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pricing professional to gain experience in a leadership role, whilst working on multiple product areas. The key elements of your role will include:

• Accountability for the delivery of BAU Broker Pricing across the entire Brightside product base
• You will help to contribute to the enhancement of our pricing processes, tools and techniques and ensure our pricing decision-making is driven by best-in-class analytics
• You will have responsibility for reviewing performance, identifying pricing opportunities and proposing alternative pricing scenarios to meet growth objectives
• Working with internal stakeholders you will be a key contributor to the business strategy, delivering vital insight into how we further develop and grow our portfolio and strengthen our commercial propositions
• Responsibility for developing, maintaining and enhancing pricing models to allow detailed price scenario modelling
• Help to provide continual development for the overall capability of the Pricing Team, ensuring deployment of best-in-class analytics and statistical techniques

About you

• Proven ability to work in a team or independently
• Strong Insurance background with a sound understanding of the market and commercial components of insurance products
• Experience in the development and building of pricing models including Price elasticity and Lifetime Value Modelling (i.e. strong statistical modelling experience including advanced regression, propensity and forecasting models)
• Expertise in Price Optimisation Software (i.e. Radar and Emblem, or Earnix)
• Experience with data science methodologies/techniques (e.g. PCA, GBM/XGBoost, clustering) in either R or Python
• Ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the enterprise and influence decision-making in a competent and persuasive manner
• Strong personal leadership skills with the ability to teach and help others develop professionally
• Knowledge and use of Data Visualisation packages (e.g. Tableau)
• Understanding of insurance compliance, regulatory and legislative environment
• Ability to work independently and virtually, both personally and as a leader

Portfolio Analyst

Salary:             Competitive (Depending on Experience)

We are looking for a Portfolio Analyst to join the trading team on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Director of Trading, you will be joining a team of analysts who perform multi-dimensional analysis to support the delivery of volume and profit targets of the business.

About the role

The successful candidate will help to analyse large volumes of data to assist the insurer relations manager and the Director of Trading to help grow specific product lines.

The key elements of your role will include:

• Regularly review sales, income & profit through the Groups product lines highlighting issues or significant changes.
• Provide analysis to support pricing strategies across multiple products.
• Provide data and analytical insight into the current trading patterns to determine business decisions and support insurers, aggregators and partners to help grow specific product line.
• Attending meetings with insurer panel members and actively reviewing data in a live environment to assist in providing data insight and improving our broker scores and relations.
• Contribute to the creation, development and ongoing analysis of business plans and budgets.
• Effectively prioritise and organise own workload to ensure that deadlines are adhered to.
• Any other duties as reasonably required.

About you

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of their own workload and hit the ground running. You will need to have:

• Experience of working in an analytical role
• Excellent Numeracy skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent data manipulation and reporting skills
• Strong Communication skills
• Proficient Excel knowledge
• SQL knowledge and experience
• Ideally you will have some experience in R, or Python
• Success working in a team based environment with good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and virtually.

Applications Manager

Salary:             £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

We are currently looking for an experienced Applications Manager to join our Technology team on a six-month fixed term contract.

Our Technology team is responsible for delivering the technology solutions and services that enable Brightside to deliver services to its customers and the Applications team under the Applications Manager is a key part of this.

About the role

As the Applications Manager you will be responsible for and actively involved in the delivery, support, maintenance and development / configuration of the core applications for the Brightside Group, as well as managing the vendors who provide these core applications. You will also help ensure that the applications meet the current and future requirements of the business as well as the wider market, and to make sure that the Brightside Group effectively exploits all applications capabilities to enable the most efficient and effective business process and performance.

Some of your key responsibilities will be:

• To manage delivery of applications and associated services to ensure that they meet agreed service levels, key performance indicators and any contractual obligations.
• To ensure that the applications and associated services conform with all legal, regulatory and company obligations and enable the Brightside Group to fulfil its compliance obligations, and that risks are identified and effectively managed.
• To drive continuous improvement in the applications and associated services, ensuring alignment with agreed architecture and roadmaps, so that the current and future needs of the business are met.
• To work closely with the wider business to drive improvements in performance and to ensure that the capabilities of the applications are aligned with the needs of the business and are being fully exploited.
• To develop and manage relationships with key application vendors to ensure that they deliver in line with their contractual obligations and agreed performance measures.
• To ensure that the application elements of projects and other changes are delivered in line with agreed plans, budgets and quality criteria.
• To set and document the standards, procedures and processes for applications and delivery of services, ensuring that they comply with all appropriate policies, and to manage the Applications team and third-party vendors.
• To lead, manage and develop the Applications team to ensure that it has the capabilities to deliver what the business needs now, and in the future, and to provide career development and growth for the team.

About you

We’d love to hear from you if you have hands on experience with managing, developing and supporting applications, including managing teams who do this. This should primarily involve commercial (off the shelf) products and could include bespoke applications as well, ideally gained in the insurance broking market,

Ideally you will also have:

• Experience as a team manager and hands on supervision that includes managing, developing and motivating teams of applications support / development professionals
• Experience of working with CDL and OGI in the insurance broking environment
• A strongly delivery focused approach, with the ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines, across multiple activities
• Experience of working in partnership with the wider business to drive improvements in applications and business performance
• Experience of vendor management
• Experience of managing development by in house and 3rd parties
• A sound understanding of ITIL, ISO27001, PCI-DSS and IT Governance generally
• Strong communication skills, able to form and develop relationships across all levels with both internal and external stakeholders
• Experience of both waterfall and agile methodologies
• A home broadband connection that allows you to work effectively and reliably from home, at a minimum 5mbps upload and download speeds

• This a varied role, as all our customers have individual needs and therefore require bespoke insurance policies that meets their individual circumstances
• The full-time working hours are 37.5 hours per week. We’ll need you to be available Monday to Friday 9am- 8pm. Typically if you are opting for full time hours you’ll work a 7.5 hour shift with an unpaid lunch break and then one in three Saturdays between 9am-5pm (when you work a Saturday you’ll get the time off in lieu).
